1 Corinthians 4:4 (NIV)
My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.
The Implication
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to judge ourselves or to judge somebody else. Often times we think we have the authority to pass judgment. We need to remember that it is not our place to be the judge. The ultimate judgment comes from the Lord.
This is important to remember when we are judging ourselves. God sees and understands things that we do not. We have all done things that require judgment and forgiveness. This is why Jesus died for us.
However, we are often much harsher on ourselves than anybody else would be. We need to make amends for our sins and discretion, and then give it over to Jesus in repentance. The price has been paid, and the only one that is perfect enough to judge is our Lord Jesus Christ.
