Everyone likes to look nice and show off their good taste. When you can combine that with your faith then you are doing an even better job. Wearing cross necklaces for men and cross necklaces for women is a way to achieve both of these goals.

To begin everyone loves jewelry, whether it is rings or bracelets or necklaces, jewelry is universal and then if you make your jewelry something of a religious nature then everyone is happy. Wearing a cross necklace for a man is a very important way to show not only your style but your belief in the Bible and all that it stands for.

Even the cross necklaces for women carry the same message, that you have a strong faith and that you love God. Purchasing one of these perfect pieces of jewelry is the best way to show you care.

If you need a gift for that special person that carries with them always their love of God, then a cross necklace for a man or a cross necklace for a woman will be the perfect present, and they are so easy to get. These gifts of jewelry come in many shapes and sizes, so there will be one for that special person in your life.

You cannot go wrong when you give a gift of religious jewelry, and it is a great way to say I love you, and God loves you too. No matter what kind of taste someone has giving one of these pieces of jewelry is the best way to celebrate whatever it is you are celebrating.

If you have a little extra money and just want to treat yourself, do not hesitate to buy yourself that one thing that will let the world know how you feel not only about your God, but your faith. Showing off your faith will make sure you believe even through tough times.

This constant reminder of what you believe in will keep you on the straight and narrow no matter what life throws at you. Keeping your faith is one of the most important things you can do for yourself and your family, so do not hesitate to get a cross necklace for everyone.

Imagine your entire family wearing a cross necklace, symbolizing your belief in God and his word. You will not have to worry as much about your family when they are away from you because you know that they have their cross necklaces for men, and cross necklaces for women right there next to their hearts,

Looking for Christian gifts for someone special? Zuluf.com has been providing customers with a wide selection of Christian gifts and Catholic gifts. Their customers know them for their quality items and low prices. With a wide range of beautiful figurines, jewelry, and religious items it is the ideal place to find Christmas, Easter, First Communion, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day presents.

This website merchant is unique because they provide handcrafted goods designed and created by Christian artisans from Bethlehem. This quality craftsmanship ensures that you have a selection of the most authentic items, the most popular of which are those made from olive wood. Olive trees are abundant throughout the Holy Land, which makes these Christian gifts even more unique and special.

Olive wood items are carved into figures of the holy family, camels, and the Nativity scene. The material is also used to make a selection of candle holders, cups, pens, magnets, rosaries, rosary boxes, crosses, flower vases, tree ornaments, and Christian wall decorations. And because each item is individually made by an artisan from a unique piece of olive wood, each product is singular in texture and shade.

A tradition for about 700 years, mother of pearl carvings are featured among the Christian gifts selection as well. Shoppers may choose from a variety of Catholic crosses, Christian magnets, mother of pearl pendants, bibles, Nativity scenes, and wall hangings. Each one is decorated with gorgeous mother of pearl – an ancient symbol for fertility and rebirth.

Items unique to the Holy Land are also available for purchase. Anointing oil and holy oil made from the famous olive trees may be bought in sets. Some sets include a beautiful hand carved cross and/or candle. Dead Sea body products are made with salt and minerals derived from the Dead Sea of the Bible. These minerals are said to be considerably better at exfoliating than average products. Lotions, creams, skin treatments, and more are available on the site.

Perhaps the most unique Christian gift available for purchase on Zuluf.com is a 10-day trip to the Holy Land itself. Give someone the gift of walking the same paths Jesus walked with His disciples and visiting the sites so often read about in the Bible. Recipients will enjoy day trips to Bethlehem, Hebron, Jericho, the Dead Sea, Nazareth, Galilee, and more.

Products from Zuluf.com also make ideal Catholic gifts for special events like First Communion, Christening, and Confirmation. Individually made, each religious-themed item is as unique as the gift giver and receiver. It may serve to commemorate or to celebrate. But in all cases, the Christian gifts you purchase from the Holy Land site will symbolize the faith and serve to inspire and encourage.

Many Christian households include at least one cross among their decorations. A Christian Cross, also called a Religious Cross, is a symbol of devotion and purity. Many cultures also consider the cross a symbol of God’s protection and blessing.

A Christian Cross can be a simple crossing of two plain sticks or it can be the elaborate and Gothic symbol used by the Russian and Greek Orthodox Churches. It can be of any size, and it can be free standing or hang on a wall when it’s used in the home.

Large free standing crosses made for the altars of churches are often plated with metal. In the Middle Ages, altar crosses were gold or silver and contained precious jewels. This was meant to represent the wealth and power of the Church.

Since the early Christians, people have worn cross jewelry to identify themselves as followers of Christianity and to show their devotion to their faith. Nuns who wear full habits also wear a rosary with a cross as one of their few accessories. Most people may not be aware that musicians mark their instrument cases with crosses as a prayer to protect the instruments from damage.

Carved wooden crosses are used in homes and churches throughout the world as a symbol of God and Jesus. A Christian Cross in a church often includes a figure of Jesus.

In the Middle Ages, these figures were carved almost horrifically, with Jesus’ face showing a tortured expression and blood everywhere. In those days, when the average person could not read, the representation of Jesus on the cross was used to show Christians how much suffering He had endured for them. Most modern Christian crosses show Jesus in a state of peace as He contemplates Heaven.

Crosses meant for the home often do not show a figure of Jesus. Some have the simple word “Jesus” carved into them. Many Religious Crosses are left plain, although they may be elaborately carved.

Zuluf Christian Crosses

Christians use crosses for prayer and contemplation. In some cultures, the homes include a small altar on which a cross is usually placed. Free standing crosses can be molded from plastic, carved from wood or shell, or even made of glass. A Christian Cross can be an object of comfort or safety if someone is ill or afraid.

The Christian Cross is one of the most iconic and recognizable symbols in the world. It is most notably the symbol of one of the world’s most powerful religions, the Catholics. But many other Christian churches use variants of the Catholic cross to demonstrate their faith.

In a home, in jewelry or in a church, a Christian Cross is a visible reminder of faith. A Religious Cross is a simple symbol with complex and far-reaching meanings to much of the Modern world.

Many people celebrate Christmas by displaying a Christmas Nativity inside their home or in the front of their house. Christians buy nativity sets for sale to add meaning to the holiday festivities. Some sets show the animals present at the time of the baby Jesus’ birth. This may spark an interest in both young and older children. The nativity set can then be used as a starting point to discuss the religious meaning of the Christmas holiday with your children.

Another great place to display the Christmas Nativity is in the front windows of a home. More than one nativity can be purchased to place as a display in all the windows and can be surrounded with Christmas lights to illuminate the nativity set.
Choose A Nativity Scene For Your Home

Nativity scenes are an important part of any Christian’s home and these stunning sets can be displayed all year long. One of the reasons that these are so exquisite is because they are actually made from olive wood from the holy land of Bethlehem.

Choose a nativity scene that fits with your home’s décor. There are various hand carved wood pieces that have been made by Christian artisans. Some of the designs are offered in light wood while others are in darker shades of olive wood.

You might consider getting a few nativity scenes to display throughout your home as each one is a little different. Some offer depictions of the wise men or the surroundings while others simply focus on Mary and Joseph at the manger with Jesus Christ.

If you are shopping for a nativity scene for someone special, you can find a beautiful one that can be displayed in any area of any home. Seeing the nativity scene is a perfect reminder to kindle one’s faith that this is where it all began.

Choose a nativity scene with music to break up the silence of a home. It will instantly create a Holy atmosphere within your home and give everyone an opportunity to think about what they are grateful for in life.

You don’t need to worry about the condition of the olive tree being damaged in the creation of these nativity scenes. These have all been created using the trimmings from the olive tree and the branches, leaving the actual tree intact.

When you’ve been invited to someone’s home, a nativity scene makes a beautiful gift that any Christian will appreciate having in their home. It is also a great gift around the holidays as well as for children who have just recently gone through one of the important sacraments of faith.

Not all nativity scenes are created equally. This one is especially important because it is made in Bethlehem, offering a much more religious experience to the home. It will provide a work of art in the home that you can share with anyone who looks upon it.

These discounted nativity scenes come in a variety of sizes so that they can be included in any size home. Some are smaller, allowing you to place them on a small end table or shelf while others are large enough to make a bold statement on a mantle or on top of an entertainment cabinet.

You can choose from an array of nativity scenes for your home as well as for the homes of all of your Christian friends. The nativity scene was a very important aspect to Christianity and you need to make sure that you remember what a miracle the birth truly way.

One of the most sublime substances in the world, “mother of pearl” has been a part of acclaimed art and jewelry since ancient times. Its iridescent glow, in strangely mystical hues of green, blue, pink and cream must have captured the imagination of ancient peoples from the first moment they pried open an abalone shell.

The captivating effect of mother of pearl is no less significant in modern times. It graces pieces from all cultures and appeals to people from all walks of life. The captivating sheen and color are beautiful alone or combined with other materials. In some settings, it is used to enhance the beauty of rare stones; in others, its beauty is enhanced by attractive woods or less valuable stone.

Though beautiful, the material isn’t rare, at least compared to gems like emerald, ruby or sapphire. It occurs in abundance in many localities around the world, and in a variety of colors and patterns. What makes mother of pearl special is not rarity. It is the craftsmanship that attends the pieces it graces.

Craftsmen have long had a special relationship with mother of pearl. Unlike many other gem and stone materials, it can be worked and shaped easily. This workability allows the craftsman wide latitude in the creative process. It can be carved into single dazzling figures, but more often it is used as an inlay in wood, metal, or stone. In some pieces, it is a major focus of the work. In others, especially musical instruments, just a few small inlays dramatically enhance the work.

For businesses marketing jewelry and other artwork, mother of pearl pieces offer a unique opportunity. In today’s economic climate, broadening revenue streams and attracting new customers to your business is critical. In other times, new revenue streams might have meant growth, but today, they could mean survival.

The flexibility of mother of pearl and the emphasis on craftsmanship and setting allow it to be accessible to customers with a wide variety of circumstances.

Well-appointed customers can select extravagant works designed and crafted by masters. Customers of more limited means can choose simpler and smaller works. But all customers get the same beautiful material and the same satisfaction.

Regardless of a customer’s means, different gifts are appropriate for different occasions. For close friends and family on important occasions, rare or unusual pieces are reasonable and possibly expected. However, in other circumstances extravagant gifts are inappropriate or uncomfortable. The beauty of modestly crafted mother of pearl gifts can provide an alluring gift alternative when exclusive gifts are unsuitable.

Bringing in new customers is a challenge. But marketing research shows that, once that customer has made the first transaction with your business, more are likely to follow. With mystical beauty and flexible settings, mother of pearl products can help you get that customer to make the first purchase – and hopefully many more.

Once you become an adult and have children of your own, it is your responsibility to decide which traditions you want to continue, which you want to let go, and start some new Christmas traditions that are yours and yours alone. Here are some ideas for new Christmas traditions that are easy to implement, no matter how tight your budget or your schedule.

Share Christmas Stories

Visit your local library and borrow some Christmas books. Read the story of the Nativity and make it a tradition to share classics like The Night Before Christmas. Modern Christmas tales can be a fun and festive way to get into the Christmas spirit, as well. Share a story each night during the week leading up to Christmas. Make hot chocolate and bake some cookies to make story time extra special.

Plan a Low-Cost Christmas Party

Christmas is a time to gather with friends and celebrate, but hosting a party can put a real crunch on a family’s budget. Put a new spin on your annual Christmas gathering to save yourself some time and money. Host a potluck Christmas meal and ask that each guest bring their favorite dish. Invite your friends over for a fun cookie and recipe exchange. Every person at the exchange will leave with dozens of cookies to share with their family and friends, as well as a collection of new recipes to try next Christmas season!

Take Advantage of Free Outings

There are many ways to get into the Christmas spirit that don’t require any money at all. Why not take the kids sledding at a local park? Dig out your snowsuits, hats and mittens and head out to play. Round out the day with a bakery treat and some hot chocolate or coffee. In the evenings, hop in the car and drive around the neighborhood to check out the Christmas light displays near your home. Spending time together is a great way to create special holiday memories.

Celebrate Christmas Eve

Make Christmas Eve into its own holiday! Cook a delicious breakfast, and then spend the day baking cookies, pies and treats. Make time to visit a local hospital or nursing home and share your treats while spreading some Christmas cheer to others who might be alone during the holidays. Gather a group of friends and family members and go caroling around your neighborhood. Allow your kids to select one gift to open before bed on Christmas Eve night. Consider giving each child a new pair of Christmas pajamas to wear to bed. There are many ways to incorporate new and fun Christmas Eve traditions into your holiday celebrations.

Give Back

There are many wonderful ways to experience the gift of giving during the Christmas season. Consider volunteering at a local shelter or soup kitchen, adopting a family in need, or making cards for the troops. During the 4th century, Romans began to associate December 25th with the birth of Christ. It is unlikely that Jesus was actually born on December 25th, however, the date closely correlated to Pagan mid-winter celebrations which were eventually taken over by the Catholic Church. In 354 AD, the Church officially declared December 25th to be recognized as the birthday of Christ. Christmas did not become an important worldwide holiday until the 19th century.

Early Christmas Celebrations
The earliest Christmas celebrations are thought to have developed around the end of the harvest season and the acknowledgment of the Winter Solstice. Initially, these Christmas celebrations were based largely on Pagan traditions. During the Roman times, these celebrations included the exchange of gifts, feasting on delicious special foods and decorating the homes with festive plants and greenery. Many of these rituals were continued in modern Christmas celebrations, including gift giving, decorating the Christmas tree and marking the holiday with a Christmas feast.

St. Nicholas
Santa Claus owes his modest beginning to St. Nicholas. St. Nicholas was a man who lived during the 4th century. Not much is known of his personal history, but he is believed to have been a bishop who lived in Asia at the time. St. Nicholas is often times referred to as the patron saint of sailors, children and the poor. Due to his kind and giving nature, St. Nicholas is recognized as the patron saint of many different countries. St. Nicholas was honored with the institution of the Feast of St. Nicholas, which was traditionally celebrated on December 6th. Throughout history, the Feast of St. Nicholas and the early Christmas celebrations combined into one large celebration in most countries.

Banning Christmas
The Christmas holiday as we know it has certainly seen its share of conflict. Throughout much of the 17th century, the Christmas celebration was banned, along with the celebration of other religious festivals. Devout Protestants, known as the Puritans, were working to purify the Catholic Church. Because Christmas was associated with the old Catholic religion, it was banned. Despite the efforts of the Puritans, many Christians worked hard to keep Christmas traditions alive. They celebrated in secret with Christmas pies. Business was not conducted on December 25th to allow Christians time to recognize the holiday. In 1660, King Charles II officially reinstated the Christmas celebration. From there forward, and throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, the Christmas holiday began to evolve into the modern celebrations that we know today.

Modern Day Santa
As St. Nicholas slowly became incorporated into Christmas celebrations, he began to take on a different role in each country that recognized him and celebrated his contributions. He became Pere Noelle in France, Father Christmas in Britain and remained St. Nicholas in Germany. Americans can thank the Dutch settlers for their belief in Sinter Klaas, who eventually evolved into the Americanized figure of Santa Claus.

People all over the world have developed their own unique Christmas traditions. Each country has its own Christmas celebration that reflects the values and traditions of their people.

Australia

Christmas in Australia is very similar to Christmas in America, with one major difference – the weather! Christmas arrives at the start of the summer down under. Australians know nothing of a white Christmas, as snow only falls on the island on very rare occasions. Rather, Christmas marks the start of surf, sand and sun down under. Australian Christmas traditions include such things as decorating a Christmas tree, exchanging gifts and a visit from Santa Claus. The people of Australia are an eclectic mix of many nationalities, so there are many unique customs included in Christmas celebrations across the country.

Mexico

Las Posadas is the name of the Christmas celebration in Mexico. It is based on the story of Joseph and Mary’s attempt to find a place to stay in Bethlehem. Las Posadas begins nine days prior to Christmas. The celebration is nine days long because it took Mary and Joseph nine days to travel from Nazareth to Bethlehem. Families and friends celebrate together by reenacting the procession of Joseph and Mary. They divide into groups of innkeepers and pilgrims. The pilgrims are refused shelter for nine long days. Finally, on the ninth day, the friends and family reunite for a Christmas celebration full of food, drinks and a piñata for the children.

Greece

Christmas is an important holiday in Greece. St. Nicholas is known as the patron saint of the sailors, and is an especially important saint in this small island nation. Grecians mark the holiday season by assembling a shallow bowl of water, which is draped with a wooden cross and a sprig of basil. Each day, the family dips the cross into the water and uses it to bless each room of the home. Grecians fast for 40 days prior to the Christmas feast, which features pork and loaves of bread known as christopsomo, or Christ Bread. Gifts are exchanged on January 1st, which is recognized as St. Basil’s Day.

China

Christians in China mark the Christmas holiday in a unique way. Christmas decorations include beautiful paper lanterns and small Christmas trees, which are called Trees of Light. Santa Claus makes a visit to the children of China and fills their stockings with small gifts and treats. The majority of China’s population does not recognize the Christmas holiday. Festive decorations remain in place through the Chinese New Year celebration. Many of the Westernized traditions of Christmas – including a Christmas feast and the exchange of gifts – take place later in the year during the Chinese Spring Festival.

There are many simple and meaningful ways to give thanks to God this Thanksgiving.

Share the Story of Thanksgiving

Everyone knows the story of how the Pilgrims sailed the Mayflower across the tumultuous ocean and arrived in the Americas. Why not take the time to relive the story with your family? Seek out an age-appropriate version of the first Thanksgiving and share the story with your children. Encourage them to see the way that the Pilgrims and the natives worked together and blessed one another during the first Thanksgiving.

Blessings from the Bible

Encourage each family member to share a Bible verse that best describes their feelings and thoughts of what the holiday means to them. Prepare in advance by asking your family members to come to Thanksgiving dinner with their favorite bible verses noted and ready to share at the dinner table.

Say a Prayer

Most families say grace before feasting on their Thanksgiving turkey. Why not take it a step further and write a special Thanksgiving prayer that can be shared at this year’s Thanksgiving meal, and recounted for years to come? This is a great project to share with the entire family. Have each family member contribute a line or a verse to the prayer.

Relive Thanksgivings Past

During dinner, ask each guest at your table to share their favorite Thanksgiving memory. Swap stories about time spent with family members, recipe disasters or favorite Thanksgiving dishes. The tales that you hear are sure to be funny, touching and memorable. Be sure to ask children to participate and share what they love most about this important holiday.

Bless Others

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to give to others. Why not bless another family this Thanksgiving? Give a meal to those in need by participating in an Adopt a Family program within your community. Volunteer your time at a homeless shelter or women’s shelter. Serve Thanksgiving dinner to seniors within the community. Reach out to friends and neighbors and invite them to join you at your table for Thanksgiving dinner.

Modern Thanksgiving celebrations are centered around fellowship, turkey and football, but this was not always the case. The first Thanksgiving meal did not include turkey at all. In fact, when the Natives and European settlers first gathered to share a Thanksgiving meal, they shared a feast of deer, corn, shellfish, and cranberries.

Settling on Native Land

Long before European settlers arrived in the Americas, this land was inhabited by native peoples. These peoples had established communities and lived off of the land by hunting, gathering, and growing their own food. The natives were uniquely adapted to survive the harsh winters of North America.

The first group of European settlers to arrive in the Americas was the English Protestants who wished to separate from their church in England. They chartered a boat, and a group of 101 settlers sailed across the northern Atlantic. Their journey took 66 days. When the European settlers arrived on their ship, they were ill-prepared at best. Many settlers were hungry, ill, and weak when they arrived in what is presently known as Massachusetts.

Help from the Natives

The settlers arrived just before winter took hold. They prepared hastily, gathering all of the food and supplies that they could. The native people assisted the new settlers with their winter preparations by teaching them how to grow corn and fertilize their crops. Perhaps the most famous native to help the Pilgrims was Squanto. Squanto was a member of the Wampanoag tribe. He spoke English and was able to communicate easily with the new arrivals. In 1621, the natives and the settlers created a pact to work together in order to provide group protection from other native tribes in the area.

The First Thanksgiving

The first Thanksgiving celebration was held in the fall of 1621. The natives and settlers hunted and gathered food for a harvest celebration. They feasted together for three days. During the course of the harvest celebration, the men, women, and children ate together, sang songs, played games, and danced. This harvest celebration eventually came to be known as the first Thanksgiving meal.

While there is no record, it can be concluded that the natives and settlers gave thanks and said prayers during their feast. The first religious recognition of Thanksgiving was recorded two years later, in 1623. The celebration of 1623 was hosted in order to give thanks to God for sending rain to the villages after a long drought.

Today’s Thanksgiving

Modern day Thanksgiving meals are often centered around a massive turkey and feature many different side dishes such as stuffing, mashed potatoes and countless desserts. While the food may be different, today’s Thanksgiving celebrations are still a time for friends and families to gather together for a meal. Today, we use Thanksgiving as a time for celebration and to offer thanks for all of the blessings that God has bestowed upon us.
