Bible Verse Of The Day ~ Tuesday, February 14, 2012
We have all heard the phrase, “pick you battles.” The other common phrases are “choose your battles wisely” and “you won the battle but not the war.” There are many times in our lives when we are up against confrontation. We need to be connected with God in order to determine if this is a battle that we need to fight at this time. There are many people in this world in great power. We need to know when the battle can be won and if winning the battle can lead to winning the war.
Proverbs 24:21
“Fear the LORD and the king, my son, and do not join with rebellious officials, for those two will send sudden destruction on them, and who knows what calamities they can bring?”
The Implication
The Lord is the ultimate authority and has the ultimate power. There are many people in this world in power, but nobody has the power that the Lord does. As Christians, it is our responsibility to turn to the Lord to determine whether or not it is time to fight and battle. The Lord knows the outcome and knows whether or not the war can be won!
