About This Cup

Pick this up and you'll notice it right away. It's small, really small, 1.57 x 1.38 inches, but it sits in your palm like it belongs there. That's not an accident. The carvers here in Bethlehem shape these by hand, and you can feel that in the weight and the finish.

This wooden communion cup gets used in a lot of different ways. Personal communion at home, small group worship, prayer tables, home altars. We've had churches order 60 at a time for exactly that reason. The olive wood stays warm in your hand in a way that plastic just doesn't, and every cup has its own grain pattern, its own color variation. None of them are exactly alike.

If you're looking for an olive wood handcrafted cup for sale that actually comes from the place it claims to, this is it. Made here, by families who've been doing this for generations, shipped directly to you.

From Our Family to Yours

Hi, I'm Elias. I grew up watching these cups come out of the workshop and I've been running Zuluf since 2007. This particular piece is one I always keep on my desk, it's the kind of thing that feels right to have nearby. When someone asks me what to order for a cup gift idea that actually means something, this is usually what I point to first. Ships directly from us, no middlemen involved.

The Story Behind It

Most wooden cups you find online are factory-made somewhere overseas, sanded down and finished by machine. Ours are shaped by hand in Bethlehem by the same Christian artisan families who've been doing this for three generations. Same streets, same workshop, same craft their grandparents passed down to them.

The olive wood itself comes from annual pruning of living trees. Nobody's cutting ancient trees down for this. The pruned branches get used, the trees keep growing, and that's been the practice here for as long as anyone can remember. There's something right about that, at least to me. These families have kept this going through a lot of difficult years, and every order placed through Zuluf goes directly back to them. No importers, no distributors in the middle.

Care Instructions

Olive wood's low maintenance. If the cup starts looking a little dry, rub a small drop of olive oil into it with a cloth and it'll come right back. Don't soak it in water. That's really about it.

Frequently Asked Questions

These look small in the photos. How tiny are we actually talking?

1.57 inches tall, 1.38 wide. Fits in your palm easy.

We need like 60 of these for our church's communion services, is that even something you do?

Yeah, 60 is literally one of the pack sizes we offer. Churches order that size all the time, it's honestly our most common bulk order for these cups. I'd say go with the 60-pack over ordering smaller quantities twice, shipping adds up and these go fast around Easter. We've had a couple churches come back panicked needing more last minute... anyway, the 60-pack's the move if you know you'll use them.

Is it real olive wood or just stained to look like it?

Real olive wood. You can see the grain variation in every single cup, no two look identical, that's actually how you know. We don't do veneers or anything like that.

Does this come in any kind of box for gifting?

Honestly it depends on the pack size. Singles and small packs we can wrap up decent for gifting, just leave a note at checkout and I'll make sure it's not going out looking like a warehouse order.

How fast does shipping usually go?

Pretty standard, ships in a couple days usually. Free shipping if you're over fifty bucks in the US.
