About This Olive Wood Holy Family Statue
There's something about having all three of them together, Joseph, Mary, and the child, that makes this feel like more than a decoration. Set these down on a shelf and you actually stop and look. The carving is traditional, the kind that's been coming out of Bethlehem workshops for generations, and the scale is right. Not too big, not too small. Four inches tall, fits comfortably in one hand.
This olive wood holy family statue set is carved from genuine wood grown in the Holy Land, and no two sets have the same grain pattern. The one that ships to you is the only one exactly like it. The robes have that quiet, flowing detail that takes real skill to pull off at this size. Simple poses, nothing overdone, just the three figures the way they've always been depicted.
From Our Family to Yours
Hi, I'm Elias. I grew up around these pieces, literally, my father had holy family sets lined up on a workbench in our house when I was a kid. This particular set is one I've handled hundreds of times and it still gets me, the way the grain runs through Mary's robe is different on every single one. Ships directly from Bethlehem, right where the story happened.

Perfect As a Gift
A pastor in Ohio ordered six of these sets last December, one for each family in his congregation that had lost someone that year. He told me it felt right to give them something made in Bethlehem, the actual place. That's the kind of thing this piece does. Free US shipping on orders over $100 makes it easy to order a few at once.

The Story Behind It
Most holy family figures you find online are factory-made somewhere with no connection to the story at all. These come from Christian artisan families who have been carving in Bethlehem for generations, working with olive wood from the Holy Land the same way their grandparents did.
The olive wood itself comes from annual pruning of living trees. Nobody cuts a tree down for this. The families take what the pruning gives them, which is part of why each piece is different. I've watched these being carved. The robe details on a four-inch figure take patience, and you can see it in the finished piece. That matters to me, even if it doesn't show up anywhere on a spec sheet.

Care Instructions
Olive wood is low maintenance. If it starts looking dry after a while, rub a small drop of olive oil into it with a cloth and it'll come right back. Don't soak it in water. That's really all there's to it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How big is this actually?
4.1 inches tall. About the size of your hand.
Is this real olive wood or just painted to look like it?
Real olive wood. Not a veneer, not a stain to fake the grain. You can see it in the photos, every set comes out a little different because of the natural patterns in the wood. I've packed probably hundreds of these and honestly I still look at the grain on some of them before I tape the box shut.
Does it come in a gift box?
Yeah, it ships protected. I'd say it's pretty giftable as-is, most people don't need to do much extra wrapping.
Is this actually made in Bethlehem or is that just a marketing thing?
Genuinely from Bethlehem. The families carving these are the same ones we've worked with for years, my dad built those relationships before I was running the shop. It's not a label slapped on something made somewhere else, the wood comes from there, the carvers live there.
How fast does shipping take?
Pretty standard, ships in a couple days usually. Free shipping if you're in the US and over fifty bucks. International takes longer, I'd say probably two weeks give or take.
