About This Cross Necklace

Put this around your neck and you almost forget it's there. That's the point. At 2.4 x 1.4 inches, it sits right where a cross should, light enough for all-day wear but solid enough that you feel it when you reach up and touch it.

This is a christening crucifix necklace people actually wear, not one that ends up in a drawer. The olive wood comes from Bethlehem, shaped by hand, and every piece has its own grain running through it. Warm honey tones, sometimes darker streaks. No two look exactly the same and that's not a selling point, that's just what real wood does.

If you've been looking for a wooden cross for sale that means something, one that comes from the actual Holy Land and not a warehouse somewhere, this is it. The cord's included, ready to wear right out of the package.

From Our Family to Yours

Hi, I'm Elias. I grew up watching my father sort through olive wood crosses on this same desk, holding each one up to the light to check the grain. This necklace cross is one I've always kept a few of around, because people ask about it constantly. It's simple, it ships anywhere, and when someone needs an olive wood cross necklace to give as a gift, this is the one I point them to first.

Perfect As a Gift

A pastor in Texas ordered the 3-pack last Easter, one for each of the kids being confirmed that week. He sent us a note afterward saying all three were still wearing them at Sunday service. That kind of thing doesn't get old for me.

This works as a crosses baptism gift, a crosses confirmation gift, a crosses easter gift, something to tuck into a card for a wedding. The set of 3 makes it easy if you're giving to a group. Free US shipping on orders over $100, so the 3-pack often qualifies.

The Story Behind It

Most christian cross necklaces you find online are factory-stamped out of resin or cheap composite. These aren't. The families who carve them have been working olive wood in Bethlehem for generations, and I mean that literally, grandparents teaching parents, parents teaching kids, same tools, same neighborhood.

The olive wood itself comes from annual pruning of living trees. Nobody cuts a tree down for this. The branches would get trimmed anyway, the carvers just make something out of them instead. I like that about it, there's a kind of respect in it.

When you order through us, you're buying factory-direct. No importers in between, no retail markup sitting on top. The price reflects that. And the families stay working because orders keep coming in. That part matters, at least to me.

This shop has been family-run since 2007 and ships to customers in over 50 countries. The crosses from these artisans are among the things I'm most proud to carry. A hand-carved olive wood cross necklace from Bethlehem is something you can actually point to on a map and say, this is where it came from.

Care Instructions

Olive wood's low maintenance. If the cross starts looking a little dry, rub a small drop of olive oil into it with a cloth and it comes right back. Don't soak it in water. That's about it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this actually from Bethlehem or is that just marketing?

Yeah, genuinely. The families carving these are the same ones we've worked with since my dad started the shop. I've been to Bethlehem, I've sat in the workshops. The olive wood comes from there, shaped there. Not assembled somewhere else and stamped with a label.

Does it come in any kind of gift box?

It comes with a cord and wrapped so it's ready to give. Honestly if you need a full box situation, I'd say probably grab a small jewelry box on your end, we keep it simple on packaging to keep costs down.

How big is this thing actually?

2.4 by 1.4 inches. Sits right at the chest, not tiny, not huge.

Is the wood actually real olive wood or does it just look like it?

Real olive wood. Not a veneer, not stained pine. So here's the thing people don't always expect, every single cross has a different grain pattern because that's just how olive wood works. I've packed probably a thousand of these at this point and I still notice it, you pull two out of the same batch and they're clearly not identical. The grain goes where it wants. Some run lighter honey tones, some are darker with tighter lines, we can't control that and honestly we don't try to.

How long does shipping take?

Pretty standard, ships in a couple days usually. Free shipping if you're in the US and over $100.
