A Word from Elias

Plastic dippers crack at the spirals, metal ones get hot in warm honey. Olive wood spirals hold honey by surface tension and let it drizzle in a single thin ribbon, the way a honey jar should pour. We started carving these because every farmers market customer asked for one.

The Story of This Piece

Each dipper is turned on a small lathe, the deep spiral grooves carved by hand in a single pass, then sanded smooth. No varnish so the wood stays food-safe.

How It Is Used

Used for honey, maple syrup, molasses, agave, balsamic glaze, salad dressing. Dip into the jar, let it drain over the bowl for one second, drizzle over toast, yogurt, oatmeal, cheese plates, charcuterie boards, tea cups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the spirals get sticky and hard to clean?
Rinse under warm running water for 5 seconds and the honey lifts off. Mild soap and a soft brush remove any residue. Towel dry, never dishwasher.

Does olive wood absorb honey?
Negligible. Olive wood is dense and does not soak up liquids the way pine or beech does. The dipper releases nearly all of the honey it picks up.

Single or pack of 2, what is the difference?
Identical dipper, identical dimensions. Pack of 2 is for two-cook kitchens or as a paired gift, lower per-piece price.

Will the dipper crack from hot tea or warm syrup?
No. Olive wood handles brief contact with hot liquids without cracking or warping.
