About This Nativity Scene
Set this on your mantle and it stops people. Sixteen inches of hand-carved olive wood, the Holy Family nestled inside a Christmas tree form, and that warm grain running through every figure. It's the kind of piece you don't tuck away after the season. People find a spot for it and leave it there.
If you've been trying to buy a nativity set that actually feels like it came from somewhere, this one did. Carved in Bethlehem, by families who've been doing this work for generations. Not a factory in another country with a Bethlehem label on it. The real thing, and you can feel the difference when you hold it.
For anyone looking to buy a nativity set as a centerpiece rather than just decor, the size here matters. At 15.6 inches tall, it commands a shelf without overwhelming it. The olive wood nativity scene for sale at this price, direct from the carvers, is something we're genuinely proud to offer.
From Our Family to Yours
Hi, I'm Elias. I grew up watching the carvers in Bethlehem shape these nativity scenes by hand, and I've been running this shop since 2007. This Holy Family piece is one I keep a version of on my own desk. The olive wood tones in person are warmer than any photo gets right. Every order ships directly from us, no middlemen, nativities order online the same way we'd send one to family.

Perfect As a Gift
A pastor in Ohio ordered three of these last November, one for the church office, two as gifts for families who'd just had their first child. He wrote back in January to say all three were still on display. That's the thing about a nativities gift idea that's actually made well. It doesn't get packed away.
This works for nearly any occasion where faith is at the center. It's a natural fit as a nativities christmas gift, but people order it for baptisms, confirmations, weddings, and Easter too. Free US shipping on orders over $100 makes it easy to send directly to someone.

The Story Behind It
Most christmas crib nativity sets you find online are factory-made somewhere with no connection to the story they're supposed to tell. Ours are different. The families carving these live a short walk from where the nativity actually happened. That's not marketing language, that's just geography.
The olive wood comes from annual pruning of living trees. Nobody cuts a tree down for this. The branches would otherwise be cleared anyway, and instead they end up as holy family statues for sale through our shop, carved by the same hands that have been doing this work for three generations.
When you buy a christmas nativity set through Zuluf, you're buying factory-direct. No importers, no wholesalers. The price reflects that. So does the quality. I've been in those workshops. The attention to the grain, to the proportions of the figures, it matters to these carvers. You can see it in the finished piece.

Care Instructions
Olive wood is low maintenance. If it starts looking dry after a few years, rub a small drop of olive oil into it with a cloth and that's all it needs. Don't soak it in water and don't leave it somewhere with extreme humidity swings. Beyond that, it takes care of itself.
Frequently Asked Questions
How big is this thing exactly?
Sixteen inches tall. It's a substantial piece, not something that gets lost on a shelf.
Is it real olive wood or just stained to look like it?
Real olive wood. You can see it in the grain, every one comes out slightly different because of it. We've had customers send us photos where the grain on Mary's robe looks almost intentional, like the carver planned it, but that's just the wood doing its thing. I remember one piece we shipped maybe two years ago where the grain wrapped around the Christ child in this perfect arc... anyway, it's the actual wood, not a veneer or a print on top of it.
Does it come packaged well enough to give as a gift?
Yeah, it ships well-protected. Wouldn't call it luxury gift wrapping but it arrives safe, and honestly most people who buy this as a gift just rewrap it themselves.
Where does this ship from and how fast?
Pretty standard, ships in a couple days usually. Free shipping if you're over fifty bucks in the US. I'd say most orders get there in about a week, give or take.
Is this genuinely made in Bethlehem or is that just marketing?
Genuinely. I work with the same artisan families my dad did. These aren't outsourced.
