About This Sculpture

Pick this up and the first thing you notice is the weight of it. Solid olive wood, carved from a single piece, not assembled or glued together. The fingers curve in a way that only happens when someone shapes them by hand, and you can feel the difference if you've ever held a machine-made version.

At 6.2 x 3.5 x 2.4 inches, these wood praying hands have real presence on a shelf or a desk. Not a trinket. The grain runs through the whole sculpture, warm tones shifting from honey to dark brown depending on where the light hits. These olive hands come from Bethlehem, and that part actually means something here.

If you're looking for wooden praying hands you can order online and give as something that lasts, this is probably the one. We've been shipping these for years and the feedback is almost always the same: people say it feels more personal than they expected.

From Our Family to Yours

Hi, I'm Elias. I've been handling these olive wood praying hands sculptures since I was a kid watching the carvers work, and I still pick one up every time a new batch comes in just to check the finish. The grain on each piece tells you it came from a real tree, not a mold. Every one of these ships directly from our family shop near Manger Square in Bethlehem.

Perfect As a Gift

A pastor in Texas ordered six of these at once, two for his own family and four to give at confirmations that spring. He wrote to say one of the families put theirs on the mantle and it's still there two years later. That's the kind of thing that stays with you when you're packing orders.

These work as a figures gift idea for almost any occasion. Meaningful without being over the top, and the size is right for display or giving. Free US shipping on orders over $100 makes it easier for people ordering more than one.

We ship worldwide, so if you need this sent directly to someone overseas, that works too.

The Story Behind It

Most wood sculptures for sale you find online are factory-made somewhere, finished by machine, packaged in bulk. These aren't. The families carving these sculpture praying hands in Bethlehem have been doing this work for three generations. The craft passes from parent to child, same as it always has.

The olive wood itself comes from annual pruning of living trees. Nobody's cutting anything down to make these. That matters to the families here, and honestly it matters to me too. Your order goes directly back to them, no middlemen between us and the workshop. Factory-direct pricing is part of how we keep it that way.

This is the same town where the Christian story started. That's not a marketing line. It's just true, and it's not something you can say about most things you buy.

Care Instructions

Olive wood is low maintenance. If it starts looking a little dry, rub a small drop of olive oil into it with a cloth and that's enough to bring it back. Don't soak it in water and don't leave it somewhere with extreme heat or cold for long stretches. That's really about it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it come in a gift box?

Yeah, it does. We wrap it up so it's ready to give, you don't need to do anything extra on your end. A lot of people order these for baptisms or confirmations and just hand it straight over.

Is it real olive wood or does it just look like it?

Real olive wood. Not a veneer, not a stain. You can see the grain running through the whole thing, and honestly the smell when you first open the package kind of says it all.

What's it weigh?

It's got real heft to it. More than you'd expect from the photos, I keep one on my desk and guests always pick it up first thing, they're surprised by how solid it feels in the hand.

Do you ship internationally?

Pretty standard, ships in a couple days usually. Free shipping if you're in the US and over fifty bucks. International we do too, just takes longer obviously.

We want to order maybe 20 of these for our church group, is that something you can handle?

20 is no problem at all. Reach out directly, elias@zuluf.com, we work out bulk pricing for church orders all the time. The artisans here... actually the thing with larger orders is we sometimes pull from two or three families depending on what's ready, so there can be very slight variations piece to piece. Nothing major. Just worth knowing.
