The Story Behind It

Most nativity sets you find online are factory-made somewhere with no connection to the actual birthplace of Christ. This one is different. The family making these works out of a small workshop in Bethlehem, close enough to Manger Square that it almost feels deliberate.

Three generations have been carving these scenes. The olive wood comes from annual pruning of living trees, nobody cuts them down, and the wood gets worked by hand from rough blank to finished scene. I've watched the process. It takes patience in a way that's hard to describe.

Care Instructions
