About This Nativity Set

You pick this up and it's immediately clear it wasn't made in a factory. The figures are small, 3.3 inches tall, but the detail in them is real. The shepherd's staff, the folds in Mary's robe, the way the manger sits under the stable roof. Someone sat down and carved that.

If you're looking for nativities for sale that actually come from Bethlehem, this is the real thing. Not a reproduction of the city. The city. The same streets, the same families, the same olive wood that's been growing here for centuries.

From Our Family to Yours

Hi, I'm Elias. I grew up handling these sets, wrapping them, watching my father check every figure before it went into a box. This olive wood nativity hand carved in Bethlehem is one of those pieces I still pick up just to look at the grain. No two are the same. Every set ships directly from us, no warehouse in between.

Perfect As a Gift

A pastor from Ohio ordered four of these last December, one for each family that had joined the congregation that year. He said they all had them up within the week. That's the kind of gift this is. It's a nativities gift idea that lands, it doesn't end up in a drawer.

People order these online for baptisms, for confirmations, for Christmas, for weddings where faith matters to the couple. Free US shipping on orders over $50 makes it easy to order one and not think twice about it.

The Story Behind It

Most nativity sets you find online are factory-made, cast resin or painted plaster, shipped from somewhere with no connection to the story at all. Ours are carved by hand in the actual city where that story happened. That still gets me, honestly.

The olive wood comes from annual pruning of living trees. Nobody's cutting anything down. The families who do this work have been carving for three generations, and when you order one of these, that keeps going. Your order keeps going. There's something to that, at least to me.

The wood comes from trees that have been growing in this soil for centuries. The grain in each piece tells you that. You can see it in the color shifts, the small dark streaks. None of it's the same twice.

Care Instructions

Olive wood is low maintenance. If it starts looking dry, rub a small drop of olive oil into it with a cloth and it'll come right back. Don't soak it in water. That's about it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this actually carved by hand or is that just marketing?

Real handmade olive wood. You can tell because the figures aren't identical, tiny variations piece to piece. That's not a defect, that's just how hand carving works.

Can I give this as a gift, does it come in anything decent?

So this is the thing I get asked a lot, and honestly it depends what you mean by decent. It comes packaged carefully enough that it arrives safe, which is the main job. If you want something with ribbon and a gift box, I'd say add a note and a small bag on your end, the set itself is pretty enough that it doesn't need much. The olive wood smell when you open it's genuinely nice, people mention that to me all the time actually.

How much does it cost to ship?

Free if you're over fifty bucks in the US. Under that there's a small fee, pretty standard.

Is the olive wood real or does it just have that look?

Real olive wood, not a veneer, not a stain on cheaper wood. I've been shipping these long enough that I can spot a fake from across the room, and these aren't that. The grain on olive wood has this almost wavy quality to it, once you know what you're looking for you won't mistake it.

Are the figures sturdy enough or are they going to chip the first year?

Honestly they're tougher than they look. Olive wood's dense, it doesn't splinter easily, I've got one set that's been passed around my own family for years and it's fine.
