The Story Behind It

Most wood sculptures for sale online are factory-made, turned out by machines in bulk. Ours aren't. The families who carve these have been doing this work for generations, and it shows in the detail of the hands, the way the lamb is held, the posture of the figure.

The olive wood itself comes from annual pruning of living trees. Nobody cuts a tree down for this. The wood is harvested from branches that would've been removed anyway, which I think matters, at least to me.
