About This Figure

Pick this up and you notice the weight first. Olive wood has a density to it that feels honest in your hand, not like the light plastic stuff you see everywhere. This praying hands figurine stands 4.1 inches tall and it's carved from genuine olive wood right here in Bethlehem, by families who've been doing this their whole lives.

It doesn't shout at you. Set it on a windowsill or a shelf and it just sits there quietly, doing its thing. We've had people order this as a figures gift idea for confirmations, for grief, for new homes. One customer told me she keeps hers next to her Bible and hasn't moved it in three years.

If you're looking for figures hand carved from actual Holy Land olive wood, not something stamped out in a factory somewhere, this is the one. Every piece that comes through our shop is different because the grain in the wood is different. That's not a flaw. That's the point.

From Our Family to Yours

Hi, I'm Elias. I've been handling olive wood pieces since I was about eight years old, watching my father sort through carvings on this same desk I'm sitting at now. This praying angel figure is one of those pieces I always pick up when I'm walking through the workshop. Something about the posture of it. We ship these direct from Bethlehem, no middlemen, and that's how it's always been with us.

Perfect As a Gift

A pastor in Texas ordered six of these at once, one for each family in his congregation going through something hard that year. He came back and ordered four more a few months later. Didn't say much, just "they meant a lot." That stuck with me.

This makes a solid figures baptism gift, a figures confirmation gift, something to give at Easter or Christmas when you want it to mean more than a card. Order it online and we pack it carefully. Free US shipping on orders over $100, and we ship worldwide if you need it sent somewhere else.

🎁 Baptism Gift 🙏 Confirmation Gift 🎄 Christmas Gift 🌷 Easter Gift 💐 Wedding Gift 🏚 Home Blessing ⛰ Memorial Gift

It travels well in a gift bag, fits in a box without a lot of padding, and looks like something that took real thought to choose. Because it did.

The Story Behind It

Most angel figures you find online are factory-made, cast in resin somewhere, painted to look like wood. Ours aren't. This one was carved slowly, in a small workshop in Bethlehem, by Christian artisan families who learned this from their fathers and their fathers' fathers.

The olive wood itself comes from annual pruning of living trees. Nobody cuts a tree down for this. The branches are pruned the way they've always been pruned, and the wood that would've been discarded becomes something like this instead. That's a detail I like, honestly. It feels right for what the figure is.

Unlike mass-produced imports, these pieces carry real variation, real tool marks in some places, real decisions made by a person who knows wood. The carver looks at the grain and works with it, not against it. That's why the warm tones shift a little from one piece to the next. Same hands, different wood, different result every time.

Care Instructions

Olive wood's low maintenance. If it starts looking dry after a while, rub a small drop of olive oil into it with a cloth and that's usually enough to bring it back. Don't soak it in water or leave it sitting somewhere very humid for long stretches. That's about it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How big is this thing actually?

4.1 inches tall. Fits on a windowsill without taking over the whole shelf.

Is it actually real olive wood or does it just look like it?

Real olive wood. Not a veneer, not a stain on cheap pine. You'll feel it the second you pick it up, olive wood has this density to it that's hard to fake. I keep a few of these on my own desk and honestly the weight is part of why. Anyway, yeah, genuine wood, carved in Bethlehem by families who've been doing this kind of work their whole lives, not a factory somewhere stamping these out.

Does it come in a gift box?

Yeah, it ships packaged so it's protected. If you're ordering it as a gift I'd say it arrives in decent enough shape to hand right to someone, we've had a lot of people order these for baptisms and that kind of thing.

How fast does this ship?

Pretty standard, ships in a couple days usually. Free shipping if you're in the US and over $100.

Is this actually made in Bethlehem or is that just marketing?

Genuinely from Bethlehem. I've packed hundreds of these orders myself, the families we work with are the same ones my dad built relationships with years ago. Not imported from somewhere else and rebranded, the wood comes from olive trees in the region and the carving happens there.
